Takashi Yamada

Takashi has over 20 years of extensive experience in both the tourism & hospitality industries. He is currently the CEO & President of his own consultancy firm in the tourism & hospitality sectors and his current responsibilities are to design sales & marketing action plans for the Japan market and implement them in order to achieve goals for Tourism Papua New Guinea (a Government Tourism Board) and he had previously worked for Alila Hotels and Resorts that manages unique city hotels and resorts in India and Asia Pacific region as an Account Director for over 9 years.
He also worked for Two Roads Hospitality – Asia, the world’s largest independent lifestyle hospitality management company as a development representative in Japan. He was responsible for expanding the company’s portfolio (as brands, Alila, Destination, Joie de Vivre, Thompson and tommie) throughout Japan by sourcing and negotiating hotel management agreements. Takashi also previously worked for Kuoni, Switzerland’s largest travel wholesalers, in Tokyo office that was responsible for developing and expanding the Japanese outbound market to Swiss, French and Italian destinations by having a partnership with major Japanese wholesalers such as H.I.S. and JTB.
Through the aforementioned work experiences, Takashi possesses extensive experience in contracting with Japanese wholesalers & agencies, as well as carrying out large-scale joint marketing programmes, including nationwide co-op promotions and incentive booking campaigns.
Takashi holds the Bachelor of Business in Tourism Management from Victoria University Australia and Master of Marketing from Monash University Australia. Takashi is fluent in both English and Italian apart from Japanese.
